Heeding Leslie's advice about changing the tacky intro font to something else, I've gone with "cracked". I was a little worried before that it would look a little too X Games for my "scary" movie, but then I realized how precious the wolves look, and I decided it didn't really matter. It's coming up on crunch time for getting things done, and I'm not sure I'm going to finish on time. There are just not enough hours in a day to get Flash movies done. It doesn't help that I forgot my headphones and can't work on the sound. Oh well...

PROGRESS!!!!

Well, son, I've done it! I've made progress!!! Boosh. I've got a lot of the sound effects that I was having problems with earlier under control, and I'm really happy with the way they fit with the visuals so far. The "scary wolf" is lookin' a little too cute still, but at least I know what I'm doing! I wonder if there's a spookifying trick to doing things in Flash that would make wolfie a little more vicious. Who knows. For now, he's a smooth little pup with a whining problem. Some day, he'll be a beast!

proooooolly screwed...

So, in a moment of "can't sleep! time to panic!" this weekend, I decided I would have to scrap all of my original cool ideas for the sake of saving time. This means no bitmap images! I'm not too sad about this, since it was taking me a long time to get the images that I wanted to use, and when  I did, I couldn't get them to do what I want. Plus, I've never used the drawing tools in Flash to create anything before, so I thought it would be a nice time to start. This has really helped so far, since I've made a major leap forward compared to my former snail's pace bitmaps were making me take. I'm going to have an actual storyboard for class tomorrow, and most likely TONS of questions.
I've never been savvy at linking up sounds with images (notice that my only Flash animation is a silent film *cough*), and I'm still a little confused as to how that all works. Every time I go into Soundtrack Pro, it's made glaringly obvious to me that this is a program that already assumes you understand all of the cool, techno soundboard lingo. Well, I don't, so it's been a fun experience of opening the program, fiddling with things, getting pissed off, and shutting the program with a promise of revenge. Maybe we can work it out, but it will be with a mutual understanding of dislike.

THE BEGINNING OF THE FLASH NIGHTMARE!!!! BOO!

I'm trying to represent two nightmares in my next project using Flash. I'm not really that super in Flash, and I've already had to cut down my overly-ambitious idea of making 3 movies, but hopefully what I'm trying to do will turn out alright. I'm at the collecting data (pictures) stage of my project, so there isn't a whole lot to discuss right now. This weekend it's going to be *snap snap*! Later!

FORMATTING! WHOOSH!

today has been super-sweet in the way of productivity. i turned my friend miyako into a cartoon for my website, i reformatted a couple of things that were giving me problems (with leslie's helpful hints from our meeting on saturday), and basically got a lot done. i'm hoping that by turning the phrase links from .pdf to .doc files, i'm not creating a broken link. i'd really like for people to write their own poems based on the line's their given. when they pick the phrase they like from the text bubbles of the characters, it would be super-easy if it just opened up to a word file that they could play with as they please (within reason). oh well, i have my fingers crossed!
